Position Title: Communications & Fundraising Manager
Location: Kabul/Nangarhar, Afghanistan
Reports To: General Manager / Project Manager / Program Director
Contract Type: Full-time
The Communications & Fundraising Manager will lead the strategic communication, donor engagement, and fundraising initiatives for the Afghan Medical Complex (AMC). This role is responsible for promoting the project’s visibility, managing public relations, coordinating donor communication, and developing campaigns to raise funds from individual, institutional, and international partners. The manager will also oversee digital platforms, storytelling efforts, and branding to inspire local and global support.
Strategic Communications
Develop and implement the AMC’s communication and media strategy.
Lead the creation of content including newsletters, brochures, videos, and press releases.
Manage relationships with media outlets, journalists, and community partners.
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
Design and implement donor campaigns, both online and offline.
Build and manage relationships with donors, sponsors, embassies, foundations, and CSR partners.
Prepare donor proposals, reports, and acknowledgment packages.
Digital Media & Public Outreach
Manage AMC’s website and all social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
Plan and execute awareness campaigns, crowdfunding initiatives, and donor events.
Oversee visual storytelling, branding, and messaging to ensure consistency and cultural sensitivity.
Internal Coordination
Work closely with the Finance team to align budgets and reporting with donor expectations.
Collaborate with HR, Health, and Project departments to document impact stories and field updates.
Support the Program Director in representing AMC in public forums, events, and presentations.
Education:
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, fundraising, or donor engagement, preferably in non-profit or humanitarian sectors.
Experience with international donors, foundations, or CSR programs is a strong asset.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent writing, presentation, and public speaking skills in English (Pashto and Dari an asset).
Proficiency in social media management, graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe), and email marketing platforms.
Ability to build networks, write persuasive content, and manage donor relations.
Creative, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong cultural sensitivity.
Other Requirements:
Commitment to AMC’s mission and humanitarian principles.
Willingness to travel within Afghanistan as needed.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and independently manage priorities.
